Kiwi band The Naked and Famous will perform at Munich's Backstage Werk in September.

MUNICH, GERMANY, July 31, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Munich is set to welcome New Zealand's latest musical export The Naked and Famous later this year.
 
Currently touring their debut album Passive You, Aggressive Me, the Auckland-based group started to make waves in their native country last year and have since seen their profile grow rapidly around the world.
 
Singles Young Blood and Punching in a Dream exemplify the band's hazy electro-pop sound, which has been likened to the catchy psychedelia of indie chart-toppers MGMT.
 
Young Blood was notable for being the first debut single to reach number one in New Zealand in 16 years, but the group are already starting to translate domestic success into a major worldwide following.
 
December 2010 saw The Naked and Famous featured in the BBC's Sound of 2011 poll, in which they were cited by industry experts and tastemakers from the UK as one of most exciting new acts to watch over the next 12 months.
 
Their show in Munich, which will follow performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals in late August, is due to take place at the Backstage Werk venue on Sunday September 11th.
 
Tickets are available online for EUR21.50 (GBP18.80) and doors will open at 20:00 local time.
 
Support for the gig will be provided by London-based songwriter Wolf Gang, aka Max McElligott, who recently released his debut LP Suego Faults to widespread critical acclaim.
