The Seoul Lantern Festival will see the Korean city lit up by beautiful light displays this November.
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, October 07, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tourists travelling to Seoul this November will be able to witness a stunning display of lights in the city during the Seoul Lantern Festival.
Having proven a tremendous success in its inaugural edition in 2009, the event has become a regular fixture and will be taking place between November 4th and 20th this year.
The lantern displays are to be set up on the famous Cheonggyecheon Stream in the downtown area of the South Korean capital, with local citizens and international artists all contributing pieces.
Hundreds of different lanterns can be glimpsed during the event, each of which will have its own unique design and story behind it, while tying in with the 2011 festival's overall theme of 'Old Story of Seoul'.
Highlights will include an 18-metre tunnel made up of over 3,000 traditional lanterns, as well as replicas of popular characters such as Batman, Spider-Man and Haechi, Seoul's lovable mascot.
Those who are in the area on November 4th itself will be able to witness a spectacular lighting ceremony, which is being held at Cheonggye Plaza.
Cultural tourists can find a wide variety of Seoul hotels at AsiaRooms.com, including the IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon.
